Made in America

Think about this...the goal of globalization is to increase material wealth, goods, and services around the world but at what cost?  How many products do you think are made in america within your own home?  Do you really think that if we were to start investing in buying products made within America that a significant change would happen?  How would this effect our GDP as a nation?  Are there any other benefits?

College Loans-The New Mortgage

Think about this...In today's job market, companies can be very selective about who they hire.  If the cost of education continues to rise, how will people pay for it?  How could a lack of education affect their standard of living?  Think about your own goals...can they be accomplished without a college education?

Inside London's Olympic Village

Think about this...More than a thousand companies from across the UK are benefitting from Olympic construction jobs.  How else could the Olympics help to boast their economy?  Consider the other areas in which London will benefit as people from all over the world head to London for the Olympics.

Are books a thing of the past?

Think about this...with the introduction of kindles and book readers the industry of publishing could be effected by this new type of technology.  In fact, they reference in the video how the introduction of the CD pretty much did away with tape casettes.  Do you think that people will stop buying books?  How about the fact that they recently came out today announcing that now college students can purchase textbooks for a reader instead of the book?  How could it effect your own schooling experience in the future?

UK Businesses Seek Space Opportunties

Think about this...the United States first went into space to compete against Russia who had sent up the first satellite.  Now the United States has decided to stop the space shuttle program, but other parts of the world such as the UK are not putting even more time and money into finding ways to explore opportunties within space.  What do you think about the idea of being able to pay a certain fee in order to go into space?  What possibilities do you see within the future of space exploration?  What do you think the United States should do now to stay in the space race?  What are we going to miss out since we have decided to stop our exploration of space?

No pain, no gain in housing market

Think about this...one of the most basic concepts of economics is supply and demand.  Supply is how much of something is available.  Demand is how much of something people want.  What kind of an effect do you think this has had on the housing market?  What would be some other examples of supply and demand you can think of?

Breaking the ice is Russia

Think about this...Russia has resources that have never been tapped due to the fact that many of their resources are frozen beneath the water's surface.  Now with these types of ships others will have the chance to not only to tap into those resources, but it will also help to promote trade with other countries due to the fact trade through this area of Russia was not possible.  How with this new development help to boost Russia's economy?
