Think about this...Workers at Canada Post, a government-owned corporation, have begun to strike causing some issues in the delievery of mail throughout Canada. Do you think it is an issue in today's modern world of e-mail and computers? Who would this effect? How do you think postal service would be effected within the United States if this were to happen? What about the fact that in the United States a lot of talk has already taken place about stopping mail service on Saturdays? How would this effect our ecoconmy?
This wouldn't effect our economy because in America today,we use e-mail and text messaging.Stopping mail service on Saturdays would effect our economy by making it so that mail services wouldn't pay their workers for that extra day.The economy is already bad and that would make it even worst.I don't think theirs an issue in e-mailing and computers and someone my age would agree.Adults think kids and teens spend to much time on texting,e-mailing,and just plainly computers.I think computers are the new mail service it's faster and easier.Mail services should only be used for packages. So,I think no mail on Saturday is good and bad. It's good because workers can spend time with their families, but bad because packages will be delayed another day.So, I think they should keep the mail services running on Saturdays.
ReplyDeleteGeneisP12...I agree computers are a new form of mail service.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Could you also add your name to the post, so I know who to give credit to?
Chloe Wise,
ReplyDeleteThis is a issue ,because as you saw there was everybody trying to email ,but it was overloaded.Texting will work for most situations of it ,but that will cost a lot of extra cash and many people don't have an endless amount of money to pay phone bills. It doesn't grow on maple trees. What about getting checks?Small business depend on the mail especially if they are on the last dollar. This also effects the little ones. They don't have droids or G-mail to contact pen pals or send out party invitations.
The USA is a strong country, but it does depend on some things. One of those things is mail.It would be chaos if any one of the ways to contact people was shutdown. As for stopping mail on Saturday ,for my family and many more,it would be kinda devastation. They should have it on Sundays to in my opinion, but i respect the day to worship the lord.USA needs the mail on Saturday. The effect on this will be big.No packages for another day and they may be a emergency. So many citizens depend on checks, bills, and other packages on every day during the week.I say no but it does take away family time , but ,if you thing about it, you committed to that job and you gave you time to that.I say keep the USA mail service should stay how it is.
